Pigments Dryer Feeding System
The Process Challenge
A pigment manufacturer was having difficulty achieving a consistent feed of the pigments to a dryer and contacted S. Howes for a solution. The main challenge to the system was the heavy and dense (45 lbs/cu) nature of the transferred materials.
The Solution
S. Howes’ solution started with a paddle mixer, which mixed and fed the materials to a screw conveyor, which moved the product to a positive displacement pump before it was fed into the dryer.
The Result
The system handled the challenging materials, resulting in a more homogeneous product being fed into the dryer at a more consistent and improved rate.
